Comment on How To Cure Evidence B(i)ased Physiotherapy by Nicholas Marki.
I see evidence as informing the reasonable options we offer to patients. For example, the SR from a couple years ago that essentially stated there wasn’t much difference between what kind of exercise you participated in, as they were all moderately helpful for back pain.
Now, doesn’t this just give the patient the option to choose whatever activity they’d like as their exercise as long as it was tolerable to them? Perhaps if we approached evidence from this standpoint, the patient could make the choices they’d like regardless if we thought it was a good or bad idea.
